The Running Horses - Erith river front. TRY IT!
Rather a lot of photos for this posting - and for a reason. As I mentioned here a few weeks ago, the old carvery at the Running Horses pub on Erith river front has re - opened. And how - better than I remember it nearly twenty years ago. The new owners have spent an absolute fortune in turning a rather run down and shabby upstairs at the pub into a lovely informal restaurant. The food is well cooked, varied, wholesome and plentiful, and you are looking at roughly £10 to £12 a head including drinks and tips - hardly a King's ransom. As you may have noticed from the photos, taken on Boxing Day lunchtime, the place was almost empty apart from myself, Mum, Julia and Chris, her partner. The Running Horses carvery has only been open for a couple of weeks, and it desperately needs publicising. A few other family parties turned up after Julia took these photographs, but you would have expected the place to have been heaving with customers. It really deserves to do well. If you live anywhere near Erith, I would strongly recommend that you give the place a try - you will not be disappointed!
