The Sinclair ZX Spectrum is 25 this week.

The pioneering British built home computer, the Sinclair Spectrum has its' 25th birthday party this week. A real milestone in the development of the personal computer - okay, it was not exactly cutting edge even at the time, but it did enable many people to get access to a proper home computer at the time when they were extremely expensive and previously unobtainable by the masses. Blimey - I feel old - I remember the very first full page colour magazine adverts for the humble Speccy, even before it was made available in the likes of Currys, Boots and Dixons. A world away now. I still have an original 48K model stashed away at my mum's house. I must dig the thing out for a play.

  1. Ahhhh the Spectrum...
It almost broke my Mum & Dad's marrage up cos my Dad spent SO much time on it but I loved it. Swapping and copying cassettes and I know people bang on about it but the gameplay was good. It was a great time to be a kid as it was all new and exciting. Ultimate had the best ad's and graphics....
